Lenovo's non-ThinkPad V730 business laptop leaks – Neowin

If you’re familiar with Lenovo’s business PCs, then you know that they mostly fall under the Think brand, such as the ThinkPad X1 Yoga, which we reviewed and found to be an excellent device. But as it turns out, the company will reportedly be releasing a new range of laptops aimed at businesses, such as the V730 that you see above.

One thing that you’ll notice right away is that there’s no carbon fiber body, a trademark for the company’s ThinkPads. It’s also missing the red TrackPoint, but it does include the rounded keys and physical buttons above the trackpad. The hinge is 180 degrees, something that Lenovo has been doing with its laptops for years.

The V730 will include Intel’s latest eighth-generation ‘Kaby Lake R’ chips, meaning that it will be quad-core. The Core i7-8550U can come with up to 16GB DDR4 memory and a 512GB PCIe SSD. It will also come with two USB 3.0 Type-A ports, wired Ethernet, and USB 3.0 Type-C.

According to the report, the device will weigh in at 1.2kg, and it will be only 15.9mm thick. Unsurprisingly, it will come with Windows 10 Pro.

As for when we’ll see the V730 announcement, the report didn’t say, but we’ll likely hear more at CES next month.
